Background & production
Part of Dublin wine merchant Mitchell & Son's Spot range, distilled at Midleton in County Cork. It is a single pot still whiskey: malted and unmalted barley triple distilled in copper pot stills.
Aged 12 years in three cask types — American ex-bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts and casks seasoned with sweet Malaga wine, which lend a distinctive sweetness.
Yellow Spot was a historic label revived in 2012 after decades off the market. It is bottled at 46%.
