The Whisky Dictionary team ("we") handles your information as follows.
Information we collect
- When you post a rating: nickname, rating, comment and the language you were viewing.
- When you send a message or error report: its contents and, optionally, your email address.
- When you click a purchase link: the whisky and shop, the page language and your country.
- With the above: a hash derived from your IP address (we do not store the IP address itself).
How we use it
- To display posts, prevent spam and repeated posting, respond to enquiries, and improve and measure the site.
Sharing
- We do not share your information with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
- We use Vercel for hosting and Neon for our database; data is stored on their servers, including in the United States.
Affiliate programmes
- We participate in affiliate programmes including Amazon Associates. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- When you follow a purchase link, the retailer or affiliate network may collect information using cookies. Please refer to their privacy policies.
Analytics
- To improve the site, we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, referrers, countries and device types. It does not use cookies and the data cannot identify you.
Cookies
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies ourselves.
