How to enjoy it

  • On the rocks

  • Cocktails

Over a large ice cube the sweetness and oak open up slowly. Its sweetness and body also make a great base for an Old Fashioned or Whiskey Sour.

Food pairing

Nut or caramel desserts, smoked meats and barbecue.

Background & production

Made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, like standard Jameson. It blends single pot still whiskey with small-batch grain whiskey.

The name comes from the double-charred bourbon barrels used in maturation. The heavier char draws out sweetness and adds toasted oak, butterscotch and vanilla; sherry-cask whiskey is also part of the blend.

No age statement; bottled at 40%.
