Background & production

Ballantine's began in 1827, when George Ballantine started selling whisky from his grocery shop in Edinburgh. Today the brand is made by Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard.

Its signature malts are Miltonduff and Glenburgie from Speyside, blended with many other malts and grains.

The 12 Year Old uses only whiskies aged at least 12 years and is bottled at 40% ABV.
