Background & production
Canadian Club was founded by Hiram Walker in 1858 in Ontario, Canada. It is distilled and aged at the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, across the river from Detroit.
Its hallmark is "blended at birth": the component spirits are combined before they go into the barrel, so they marry throughout maturation for a seamless taste.
The Classic 12 is aged 12 years in re-charred oak barrels — four times the legal minimum of three years for Canadian whisky. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
