How to enjoy it

  • Highball
  • Neat
  • On the rocks

Its fresh aromas are at their best in a highball — Suntory suggests adding a sprig of mint.

Food pairing

Tempura, salted yakitori, herb salads and white fish.

Background & production

A single malt from Hakushu Distillery in Hokuto, Yamanashi, surrounded by the forests of the Southern Alps. Its water is rain and snow that filter through granite for around 20 years.

It vats a lightly peated malt — fresh like young leaves, with a faint smokiness — with various whiskies that bring Hakushu's complexity and depth. It is described as fresh on the nose and crisp and lively on the palate.

No age statement; bottled at 43%.
