Dark chocolate, fruit-studded pound cake and aged cheeses.

Background & production

Made entirely from single pot still whiskey distilled at Midleton in County Cork — malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. It is aged for at least 15 years in a balance of first-fill and refill casks.

Unlike the 12 Year Old (40%), it is bottled at 46% and is not chill filtered, which together with the extra age gives more depth and spice.

First released as a limited edition in 2010, it later became a permanent expression.
