Background & production
Made at the Wild Turkey distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Jimmy Russell, who joined in 1954 and became a legendary master distiller, is synonymous with 8-year-old, 101-proof bourbon — said to be his favourite.
Whiskey aged eight years is bottled at 50.5% (101 proof). In 2024 a limited 8-year-old, 101-proof edition marked his 70th anniversary at the distillery.
