Blended with the highball in mind, it keeps its balance when topped with soda. At 37% ABV, make highballs and mizuwari a little stronger than usual.

Background & production

Suntory launched Torys in 1946, in the lean years after the war, with the aim of offering a well-made whisky at an affordable price. The brand is also known for its cartoon mascot, Uncle Torys.

Torys Classic arrived in September 2015. According to Suntory's chief blender, its key malts are whisky matured in Spanish oak casks and oily-textured Hakushu malt, blended for a balance that holds up even when mixed with soda.

From late November 2025 it was renamed Torys Whisky, with new packaging featuring Uncle Torys prominently; the liquid itself is unchanged. It is bottled at 37% ABV in sizes from 180ml up to 4-litre PET bottles.
