Background & production
The brand was started in 1858 by Hiram Walker, a grain merchant turned distiller. His distillery across the Detroit River in Ontario grew into the town of Walkerville, built largely around his businesses.
Its hallmark is blending the component whiskies before maturation in white oak barrels, which is said to give a clean, well-integrated taste.
Bottled at 40%.
