Background & production

Its predecessor is Suntory 'Akafuda' (Red Label), released in 1930. Suntory describes today's Red as an everyday whisky with a bright red label meant to liven up the Japanese dinner table, refined year after year as a whisky to drink with food.

Made from malt and grain and bottled at 39%, it is one of the most affordable whiskies in Suntory's Japanese range.
