Background & production

Made at Nikka's Miyagikyo Distillery from 100% malted barley distilled in a Coffey still. Because it is not pot-distilled, it is not technically a single malt despite being all malt.

The Coffey stills are an old-style continuous still Nikka imported from Scotland in 1963. Miyagikyo Distillery was established in Miyagi Prefecture in 1969.

It joined Nikka's core range in 2014. No age statement; bottled at 45%.
