How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • On the rocks
  • Highball

Despite 48% ABV it is mellow on the palate. Sip neat or with a splash of water to enjoy the balance of sweetness and salt. In a highball the fruit really lifts.

Food pairing

Kagoshima dishes like black pork shabu-shabu or kibinago fish, and salt-grilled fish.

Background & production

Made at Komasa Kanosuke Distillery on Fukiage beach in Hioki, Kagoshima, overlooking the East China Sea, under the concept "MELLOW LAND, MELLOW WHISKY".

The distillery's flagship, it is characterised by sweet, elegant Japanese notes from re-charred casks that once held aged shochu, along with a faint saltiness that reflects its seaside setting.

Bottled at 48%. It has won repeated awards at international competitions and is served in JAL international first class.
