Background & production

Made at Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain in the northern Highlands. Founded in 1843, it has the tallest stills in Scotland — the necks alone are 5.14 metres, as tall as an adult giraffe — which produce a delicate, light spirit.

The Original matures for ten years in first- and second-fill American white oak ex-bourbon casks, including slow-grown, air-dried "designer casks" from Missouri. Bottled at 40%.
