How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • On the rocks

Neat is the way to enjoy its dessert-like sweetness and aromas. On the rocks the sweetness tightens up, making it a crisp after-dinner pour.

Food pairing

Foods you would pair with Sauternes: fruit tarts, crème brûlée, foie gras or blue cheese.

Background & production

Made at Glenmorangie distillery in Tain, in the northern Highlands. Founded in 1843, it has the tallest pot stills in Scotland, which produce a delicate, light spirit. It is now part of LVMH.

Nectar d'Or takes spirit matured for at least ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and extra-matures it in casks that held Sauternes, the sweet wine from southern Bordeaux.

Aged 12 years in total, it is bottled at 46% ABV.
