How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • With water

Its complexity is best enjoyed neat, in small sips. A few drops of room-temperature water help the aromas open up.

Food pairing

Dark chocolate, dried fruit and aged cheese — or on its own after dinner.

Background & production

A single malt from Yamazaki Distillery in Osaka. It is a full-bodied style centred on whisky aged at least 18 years in Spanish oak sherry casks, given extra time to marry.

Whisky long-matured in casks of Japanese Mizunara oak is also part of the recipe. With long ageing, Mizunara develops a distinctive aroma likened to incense and sandalwood, prized by blenders and whisky lovers worldwide.

Bottled at 43%. It has won the Supreme Champion Spirit award at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC).
