Background & production

Made at Bunnahabhain near Port Askaig on Islay's north-east coast, facing the Sound of Islay. Founded in 1881, it draws water from a spring before it passes through peat, and its main spirit is unpeated — an outlier on an island known for smoky whisky.

The 18 Year Old is a deep mahogany, long-aged expression built on sherry-cask whisky, and one of the distillery's most awarded malts.

It is bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill filtration or added colour.
