Background & production
Made at the Woodford Reserve Distillery near Versailles, Kentucky, where distilling began in 1812. Brown-Forman restored the historic site and launched the brand in 1996. It is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby.
The bourbon combines copper pot still spirit made at Woodford Reserve with column still spirit from Brown-Forman's distillery in Shively. The mashbill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
It is bottled at 45.2% (90.4 proof).
