- On the rocks

- Cocktails
On a big ice cube it shows off its rich sweetness, and it is smooth enough neat. In an Old Fashioned the toasty oak really comes through.
Food pairing
Spare ribs and barbecue with sweet, sticky sauces. After dinner, try it with nutty chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
Background & production
A bourbon from Woodford Reserve distillery near Versailles, Kentucky. Owned by Brown-Forman, Woodford combines copper pot-still spirit with column-still spirit.
Double Oaked is first matured in a charred new barrel as usual, then moved into a second new barrel that is deeply toasted before a light char. The second barrel is designed to draw out extra soft, sweet oak character.
It is bottled at 45.2% ABV (90.4 proof) and won Double Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
