Background & production

A single malt from Cooley Distillery in County Louth, north-east Ireland. Unlike the many triple-distilled Irish whiskeys, it is double distilled.

The Tyrconnell was originally a brand of Andrew A. Watt & Co, named after a racehorse that won at 100 to 1. It went dormant when Watt's distillery closed in 1925, and Cooley acquired and revived it in 1988.

Once bottled at 40%, it is now bottled at 43%.
