How to enjoy it

  • With water
  • On the rocks
  • Highball

Its soft character makes it easy to pair with food as mizuwari. On the rocks the fragrant aromas come through clearly.

Food pairing

Japanese food in general — grilled fish, hot pots and sukiyaki.

Background & production

A blend created by Suntory's founder and first master blender, Shinjiro Torii, launched in 1960 to mark the company's 60th anniversary.

The bottle is shaped after the kanji 酉, which depicts a sake vessel, and the cap is modelled on the torii gate of Shiio Shrine — a play on the founder's name, Torii.

Made from malt and grain whiskies and bottled at 43%.
