Background & production
Based in Kirkwall on Orkney, one of Scotland's most northerly distilleries. It is said to have been founded by Magnus Eunson, a descendant of early Viking settlers — reflected in the "Viking Honour" name adopted in 2017.
It is one of the few distilleries still using traditional malting floors, drying part of its barley with hand-cut, heather-rich peat from Hobbister Moor.
The 12 Year Old is matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. Bottled at 40%.
