Background & production

Made at Glen Scotia Distillery in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula, founded in 1832. Once one of 21 distilleries in the town during the 1800s, it is now one of only three still operating, and has been owned by Loch Lomond Group since 2014.

Double Cask is a no-age-statement malt matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then finished for 12 months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The distillery describes classic Campbeltown notes of sea spray, apple and pear, enriched by spicy fruit from the PX casks.

It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
