Background & production

Made at Craighouse on the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides. The distillery was founded in 1810 by the island's laird; after falling out of use and being dismantled, it was rebuilt between the 1950s and 1963. It is owned today by Whyte & Mackay.

Its spirit is made in notably tall stills. The 10 Year Old matures for ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and is then finished in aged Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. Both peated and unpeated whisky go into it.

It is bottled at 40% ABV.
