Sandwiches, fried chicken, battered white fish — most lighter fare.

Background & production

Made at the Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The distillery traces its heritage to a licence to distil granted to Sir Thomas Phillips by King James I in 1608.

Original blends around 45% triple-distilled malt whiskey with 55% grain whiskey — an unusually high malt share — to a recipe said to be unchanged since 1888.

It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 40%.
