Background & production

Kilbeggan Distillery in County Westmeath, founded in 1757, is regarded as one of Ireland's oldest licensed distilleries. The licence was kept up even during closures, and whiskey is still distilled there under the original 1757 licence. It is owned by Suntory Global Spirits.

Traditional is a double-distilled blend of grain and malt whiskeys, aged at least four years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.
