- Highball
- On the rocks
- Neat
Its light fruit works well with bubbles — as a highball the apple and orange come through fresh. The distillery also suggests mixing it with apple juice and soda.
Food pairing
Pork with apple sauce or lightly fried white fish. Apple pie, too.
Background & production
Made at Speyburn in Rothes, Speyside, founded in 1897. Water comes from the Granty Burn, a tributary of the Spey, and the pagoda roof designed by architect Charles Doig still stands. At its founding it was the first malt distillery to install pneumatic drum maltings.
It is now owned by Inver House Distillers (International Beverage).
The 10 Year Old is the core expression, matured in oak for ten years and bottled at 40% ABV.
