At 48% it is powerful, so sip it neat in small amounts or add a few drops of water to coax out the sweetness. It also holds its smoke and sweetness well in a strong highball.

Background & production
Made at Laphroaig, founded in 1815 on the south coast of Islay. The distillery is known for floor malting on site and the intense smoke of Islay peat.
Lore is a no-age-statement marriage of Laphroaig of many ages, said to include spirit distilled as far back as 1993. It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, first-fill sherry butts and small quarter casks.
It is bottled at 48% ABV.
