Background & production

Made at the King Car group's Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, north-east Taiwan. The distillery came on stream in 2005, and Classic was its first release, in 2008.

In the hot, humid subtropical climate, maturation is rapid, drawing out colour and flavour in a relatively short time. Ex-bourbon barrels form the core, with some wine and sherry casks.
