Background & production
Made at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, which uses two mashbills and five yeast strains to create ten recipes.
The Single Barrel uses one of them, OBSV: the high-rye 'B' mashbill, which gives a spicy, full-bodied taste, with the 'V' yeast for delicate fruit. Each bottle comes from an individually selected barrel aged around seven to nine years, so flavour varies slightly from barrel to barrel.
It is bottled at 50% (100 proof).
