Background & production
A bourbon from Kentucky's Heaven Hill. It is named after Evan Williams, who is said to have started distilling in 1783 in what is now Louisville and to have opened Kentucky's first commercial distillery — hence the "Since 1783" and "Kentucky's 1st Distiller" on the label. Heaven Hill introduced the modern brand in 1957.
It is distilled at Heaven Hill's distillery in Louisville and aged for at least four years in new charred American oak. It is said to be the second best-selling bourbon in the United States.
Black Label is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof).
