Background & production
A bourbon made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, where seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey making.
During maturation, bourbon soaks into the barrel wood, and some remains there after the barrel is emptied. Devil's Cut uses a 'barrel sweating' process to extract this bourbon from the wood, then blends it with extra-aged Kentucky straight bourbon.
It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof), aiming for deep colour, aroma and depth from the barrel.
