How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • With water

A whisky to sip slowly and neat after dinner. Let it rest in the glass and the citrus and chocolate open up. Keep any water to a drop or two to preserve its richness.

Food pairing

Dark chocolate, candied orange peel and nuts. Many enjoy it alongside a cigar.

Background & production

A single malt from The Dalmore, on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands. The distillery is known for rich, sherry-led whiskies, and its bottles carry a stag emblem.

The 18 Year Old spends around 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then about four more years in casks that held 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry. It was first released in October 2009.

Part of Dalmore's core Principal Collection, it is bottled at 43% ABV.
