How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • With water

Best neat to take in the full weight of the sherry casks. At 46% ABV, a few drops of water open up the fruit.

Food pairing

Dark chocolate, dried fruit and nuts. Also rich meat dishes such as venison or beef cheeks braised in red wine.

Background & production

A single malt from GlenDronach distillery at Forgue near Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice and has been owned by Brown-Forman since 2016.

The 18 Year Old is named 'Allardice' after the founder. It is matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

At a distillery known for Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry maturation, this is the long-aged bottling that puts the depth of Oloroso up front.
