How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • With water

With its sherry-cask depth, it is best sipped neat after dinner. A splash of water opens up the orange and spice.

Food pairing

Orange-peel chocolate, fruitcake or dried fruit. Also rich meats such as roast duck.

Background & production

Made at The Dalmore, founded in 1839 at Alness on the Cromarty Firth, north of Inverness. The stag emblem on the bottle comes from the Mackenzie family, who bought the distillery in 1867.

Introduced in 2007, the 15 Year Old is first aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels for vanilla and honey, then finished in three styles of sherry cask: Apostoles, Amoroso and Matusalem Oloroso.

It is bottled at 40% ABV.
