Background & production

Made at Bunnahabhain, founded in 1881 near Port Askaig on the Sound of Islay. Its water comes from the Margadale Spring before it runs through peat, and its core whiskies are unpeated — unusual for Islay.

The 12 Year Old, first launched in 1979, is the original member of the core range. It is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.

Bottled at 46.3% without chill-filtration and with natural colour.
