Talisker Skye

★★★★★★★★★★No ratings yet

A no-age-statement Talisker named after its home island. Sweeter and more citrusy than the 10 Year Old, with gentler smoke and pepper — an easy way into Talisker.

How to enjoy it

  • Highball
  • Neat
  • On the rocks

With less smoke than the 10, it makes a bright, citrusy highball. Neat or on the rocks, you get a nice balance of sweetness and peppery spice.

Food pairing

Grilled fish, seafood fritters and smoked nuts — salty, savoury snacks suit it well.

Background & production

A single malt from Talisker distillery at Carbost on the west coast of the Isle of Skye — the island's oldest distillery, now operated by Diageo.

Skye carries no age statement and is matured in refill and re-charred American oak casks. It is bottled at 45.8% ABV, the same strength as Talisker 10.

It combines sweet smoke, peppery spice and fresh citrus, and won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2015.
