How to enjoy it

  • Highball
  • On the rocks
  • Neat

With mild smoke, it is a good entry to peated whisky and works well in a highball. On the rocks the honey sweetness shines.

Food pairing

Yakitori, spare ribs and smoked salmon.

Background & production

Made at Ardmore Distillery in the village of Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, in the eastern Highlands, which has been operating since 1898.

Released in 2014, Legacy combines traditional peated Ardmore (about 80%) with Ardlair (about 20%), an unpeated malt the distillery makes in small quantities. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels, with no age statement; bottled at 40%.
