Background & production

Made in Alexandria, near the southern tip of Loch Lomond. The distillery was founded in 1964 by Duncan Thomas, owner of Littlemill, and first ran spirit in 1966.

Alongside conventional pot stills it uses straight-neck stills, a design Thomas had trialled at Littlemill, to draw off a light, fruity spirit.

The 12 Year Old brings together bourbon, refill and re-charred casks, blended by Master Blender Michael Henry, and is bottled at 46% ABV.
