Background & production

Made at Glen Garioch distillery in Oldmeldrum, near Aberdeen. Founded in 1797, it is regarded as one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries and is now owned by Suntory Global Spirits.

The 12 Year Old is mostly matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, combined with whisky from Spanish oak sherry casks.

It is bottled at 48% ABV without chill-filtration. The distillery describes its house style as rich maltiness, honeyed sweetness and a creamy texture.
