Background & production
An older expression from Benromach, near Forres in Speyside. The distillery closed in 1983, was bought in 1993 by the long-established independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail and restarted production in 1998. It uses malt lightly peated with Highland peat, giving it a gentle smoke unusual for Speyside.
The 15 Year Old joined the range in 2015. It combines whisky matured in first-fill ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, with a greater emphasis on sherry than the 10 Year Old.
It is bottled at 43% with no added colouring.
