Oban

Scotland / West Highlands · Founded 1794

A small distillery in the heart of the harbour town of Oban, whose style sits between the Highlands and the islands.

History & character

Built in 1794 in the centre of the harbour town of Oban in western Scotland; the former fishing village grew up around it. Its position between the West Highlands and the islands gives a briny character.

With just two pot stills and little expansion since its founding, it is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.

Owned by Diageo, its 14 Year Old was chosen to represent the West Highlands in the Classic Malts series launched in 1987.
