Background & production
Made at The Macallan distillery in Speyside. The Triple Cask Matured range was launched in 2018, taking the place of the earlier Fine Oak range.
The spirit matures separately in European oak sherry-seasoned casks, American oak sherry-seasoned casks and American ex-bourbon casks for 12 years before being married together. The bourbon casks give a lighter, citrus-and-vanilla character than Macallan's all-sherry Sherry Oak. Bottled at 40%.
