How to enjoy it

  • Neat
  • On the rocks
  • Highball

Neat is an easy way to taste classic sherry-cask sweetness. At a light 40%, the sweet aromas also shine on the rocks or in a highball. A good first sherried malt.

Food pairing

Dried fruit, nuts and chocolate. Sweet-savoury dishes such as teriyaki too.

Background & production

Glenfarclas sits near Ballindalloch at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Speyside. John Grant bought it in 1865, and his descendants still own and run it — one of very few truly family-owned distilleries in Scotland.

Its six stills, said to be the largest in Speyside, are heated by direct gas firing, and the spirit is matured in oloroso sherry casks.

The 10 Year Old is the youngest age-statement bottling in the range and is bottled at 40% ABV.
