Background & production
Chivas traces its history to a grocery and wine shop opened in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1801. Brothers James and John Chivas later became pioneers of blending, and the brand is now owned by Pernod Ricard.
For Mizunara, part of the whisky in the blend is finished in casks made from Japanese Mizunara oak. It is described as the world's first Scotch whisky selectively finished in Mizunara casks.
It carries no age statement and is bottled at 40% ABV.
