How to enjoy it
- Neat
- On the rocks
- With water
Neat or with an equal splash of water shows off the roundness of long ageing. On the rocks the sweetness tightens up nicely for an after-dinner dram.
Food pairing
Nuts, dried fruit and fine chocolate. Also roast beef or duck.
Background & production
A blended Scotch from Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard. It was created in 1953 and named after the 21-gun salute fired at the Tower of London for royal celebrations.
Royal Salute is described as the only Scotch whisky whose range begins at 21 years old, and The Signature Blend is its foundation. It comes in a porcelain flagon inspired by the jewels of the crown, such as the sapphire-hued original.
It is bottled at 40% ABV.
