Background & production
Chivas traces its history to a grocery and wine shop opened in Aberdeen in 1801, and the Chivas Regal blend was created in 1909. The brand is now owned by Pernod Ricard.
The 18 Year Old was launched in 1997 by Master Blender Colin Scott. A deluxe blend of grain whisky with a high proportion of single malts, built around Strathisla and other Speyside malts, it is known as the 'Gold Signature'.
It is bottled at 40% ABV.
