Background & production
The flagship of Starward, founded in 2007 by David Vitale in Port Melbourne, Victoria.
Nova is matured for its entire life — not merely finished — in red wine barrels from local wineries that previously held Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The barrels are filled 'wet', while still holding wine, to draw out red-fruit character.
It carries no age statement and is bottled at 41%.
