Background & production
Made at the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, Ontario; the brand is owned by Corby Spirit and Wine.
It is made from 100% rye and distilled one batch at a time in a single copper pot still, which concentrates the spicy rye notes while keeping the fruity and floral notes from fermentation. It is aged in new oak barrels that bring vanilla, caramel and toffee.
Re-released in 2012, it is bottled at 43% ABV.
