History & character
The single malt distillery of India's John Distilleries, at Cuncolim in Goa. The company was founded in 1992 by Paul P. John and produced a range of spirits before setting up a traditional pot-still distillery in Goa to make quality single malt, releasing its first Paul John single malts in 2012.
The site was chosen for its tropical monsoon climate, and the distillery runs copper pot stills made in India. It uses Indian six-row barley grown in regions including Rajasthan, Haryana and the Himalayan foothills.
